So you bought a slick new computer system and a new monitor. The new Pentium 4 based system with the flat screen LCD display runs circles around your old system. Now, what do you do with that old Windows 95 machine with 32MB of RAM, fifteen inch monitor, and the old dot matrix printer that you will never use again that are currently just taking up space in your garage?
Unlike the television that was purchased 12 years ago and is still being watched, computer technology becomes obsolete much more rapidly. As newer and better technology becomes available people upgrade their computers, monitors, printers, scanners, and network components. After upgrading, the challenge becomes how to dispose of the old, unwanted equipment.
